Crescent Veggie Christmas Tree

A delightful, no-fuss appetizer that’s as fun to look at as it is to eat. Perfect for your next holiday party, potluck, or even just a special weeknight treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Main ingredients

  • 16 oz Pillsbury Crescent Rolls (The kind that comes in a can is perfect.)
  • 2 8 oz cans cream cheese, softened (Make sure it’s nice and soft so it mixes up beautifully.)
  • 0.5 cup light sour cream (Adds a little tang and extra creaminess to our filling.)
  • 1 tsp dried dill weed (This herb brings a lovely, fresh, slightly grassy flavor that pairs wonderfully with the creamy cheese.)
  • 0.25 tsp garlic powder (Just a hint of garlic to give our filling a little savory punch.)
  • 3 cups finely chopped assorted vegetables (Broccoli florets, colorful bell peppers, shredded carrots, thinly sliced green onions, diced cucumber.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to the temperature recommended on your crescent roll package (usually around 375°F or 190°C).
  2. Gently unroll crescent roll dough. On a lightly floured surface, press the seams together to form one large rectangle.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix softened cream cheese, sour cream, dried dill weed, and garlic powder until smooth and creamy.
  4. Gently fold in the finely chopped assorted vegetables into the cream cheese mixture until evenly distributed.
  5. Spread the cream cheese and veggie mixture evenly over the crescent roll dough rectangle, leaving a small border.
  6. Starting from a long side, tightly roll up the dough with the filling, like a jelly roll.
  7. On a prepared baking sheet, carefully shape the log into a Christmas tree form, with a wider base and tapering towards a point.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven until the dough is golden brown and fully cooked through, following package directions.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before slicing into tree-shaped pieces.

Notes

Store any leftover Crescent Veggie Christmas Tree in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. To reheat, gently warm it in a low oven or microwave until heated through.
