Deliciously chewy and rich in flavor, these Sourdough Chocolate Chip Cookies are the perfect treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup active sourdough starter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, then stir in the sourdough starter.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop by tablespoon onto ungreased sheets.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden.

Notes

  • For best flavor, let the dough rest in the refrigerator overnight.
  • These cookies can be frozen for later use.
